Petar Markovic, a 20-year-old central defender with dual Austrian and Serbian nationality, joins GAK from Bologna. Markovic played in the top Italian youth league (Primavera) for Bologna after transferring from Wiener Austria in 2024. Markovic received a three-year contract at GAK. Sporting director Tino Wawra stated that GAK was able to convince Markovic, a major youth talent, to join the club and permanently sign from Bologna for the next three years. Wawra also commented on Markovic's height and heading ability, and expressed confidence in his development. Markovic said he is very pleased to have signed a long-term contract with GAK and sees it as the perfect step in his development. He has 7 caps for the Austria U19 team.
