Sassuolo is one of several clubs interested in signing 26-year-old Dutch defender Perr Schuurs, who is a free agent after his contract with Torino was terminated by mutual agreement following a significant injury. Venezia, Genoa, and Torino also want to sign the defender. There is also considerable interest from the Netherlands, where NEC is working to sign him for a return to the Eredivisie on a three-year contract that would include Champions League football. Transfer journalist Nicolò Schira previously reported that Ajax had made contact with Schuurs about a one-season contract. Schuurs has a current market value of €850k, according to Transfermarkt, and has not yet been capped by the Netherlands.
