Right-back Pedro Malheiro could join SC Freiburg. The German club has already held initial talks with Malheiro's current club Al Wasl and has explored the conditions for a transfer. Malheiro himself is said to want a return to European club football. The 25-year-old Portuguese player, who also has UAE nationality, moved from Trabzonspor to Dubai only a year ago for a fee of over six million euros. The former Portugal U21 international has 4 caps and is under contract with Al Wasl until 2029 but is reportedly planning an early departure. In the 2025/2026 UAE Pro League season, Malheiro made 25 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €5.00m.
