Patrik Hellebrand, a 27-year-old Czech Republic international, has departed Górnik Zabrze to join Korona Kielce, who activated his release clause. The fee paid by Korona Kielce breaks their previous transfer record. The midfielder had previously been linked with other clubs, including Lech Poznań and Widzew Łódź, as well as a potential transfer abroad. Hellebrand's contract with the Polish runners-up was set to run until June 30, 2029, and it contained a release clause of 1.7 million euros for domestic rivals and 1.5 million euros for foreign teams. Korona finished eleventh last season, and it is understood that the club persuaded the player with a record salary offer. Hellebrand, who joined Górnik Zabrze in July 2024, has signed a contract with his new club valid until June 30, 2029, with an option to extend it by another year. In the 2025/2026 Ekstraklasa season, he made 33 appearances, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists. A reported offer of €2.5 million from a Turkish club was rejected in May 2026. The midfielder has one cap for Czechia and a current Transfermarkt market value of €3.50m.
