Patrick Agyemang leaving Charlotte?

Goal.com reports on the completed transfer of USMNT striker Patrick Agyemang to Derby County. USMNT striker Patrick Agyemang has completed a transfer to Derby County after his performance in the USMNT's Gold Cup run and breaking out in MLS with Charlotte FC. The transfer fee set a club record for Charlotte FC.

Charlotte FC striker Patrick Agyemang is set to join Championship side Derby County. The deal was first reported by Steven Goff from the Washington Post in late June and was delayed by the US men's national team's progress at the Gold Cup. Agyemang is now set to complete his medical and sign his contract at Derby County. Charlotte FC will receive an initial $8m (€6.8m) plus $2m (€1.7m) in add-ons. The deal also includes a percentage of any future deal, typically ranging from 10-20%. Just the initial fee makes Agyemang the most expensive outgoing transfer in the history of Charlotte FC.

KRC Genk is interested in signing Patrick Agyemang to replace Tolu Arokodare. However, Derby County is leading the race to sign him, and Genk needs to act quickly to secure the deal.

Patrick Agyemang is a 1m93 tall center forward under contract with Charlotte FC, scoring 8 goals and providing 1 assist in 18 matches. He has scored 5 goals in 9 matches for the US national team. Agyemang is seen as a potential future leader for the US attack, possibly for the 2026 World Cup. KRC Genk has reportedly held advanced talks with Charlotte FC for a summer transfer. His market value is estimated at 4 million euros.

KAA Gent showed interest in Patrick Agyemang, a target striker from Charlotte FC with a contract until December 2025. Despite his impressive stats of eleven goals and three assists in 43 MLS matches, KAA Gent's leadership decided against pursuing the transfer during the winter mercato.
