Genoa is considering Fiorentina's 32-year-old Spanish defender, Pablo Marì, as a defensive reinforcement for January. The defender is an alternative to Lucas Martinez Quarta, who has returned to River Plate. Another player being considered for the defense is Diego Coppola of Brighton, for whom there is also competition from Torino, Fiorentina, and Milan. Marì joined Fiorentina in January 2025 and is contracted until June 2027. He has made 11 appearances in Serie A this season. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €2.50m. Fiorentina acquired him from Monza for a reported fee of €1.8 million. In August 2025, reports linked him with a move to Torino at a valuation between €2 and €3 million.
