Owen Hartington, an 18-year-old Scottish and English midfielder, has joined League Two club Dumbarton on loan from Celtic, where he will team up with fellow Celtic loanee Aidan Rice. The deal was finalized on Friday, and Hartington subsequently made his debut as a substitute in Dumbarton's 2-0 loss to Stirling Albion. Dumbarton manager Frank McKeown told the club website that Hartington is a player with significant potential who is capable of having a career at the top level. McKeown praised the midfielder's technical ability and physical attributes, which he said were displayed for Celtic B last season. He also confirmed he worked with Chris McCart and Shaun Maloney to complete the transfer and thanked everyone at Celtic who helped facilitate the move.
