Genclerbirligi has announced the completion of Ousmane Diabaté's transfer to Newcastle United, with the Turkish club officially stating that he will be immediately loaned back to them until the end of the season.

SOAR Academy announced on its Facebook page that Ousmane Diabaté has signed a four-season contract with Newcastle United, which includes an additional optional year. Africafoot had exclusively revealed that Diabaté was previously linked to Tottenham Hotspur. Diabaté chose to continue his career at Newcastle United.

An agreement has been reached between Gençlerbirliği, Newcastle United, and SOAR Academy, which holds 40% of Ousmane Diabaté's rights. However, the agreement has not yet been signed.

Newcastle have agreed a deal for Gençlerbirliği midfielder Ousmane Diabate. The 18-year-old Guinean midfielder has secured a 4+1 year agreement with Newcastle United. Under the terms of the transfer, Diabate will stay on loan at Gençlerbirliği for 1 year to continue his development in Turkey. There is a mid-season recall clause. If the player plays, Gençlerbirliği will earn a bonus from this loan. Tottenham and Brentford had also been linked with the player, who has one cap for Guinea. Diabate joined the Turkish club in February 2026 and has a current market value of €1.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
