Othmane Maamma Transfer from Watford to Roma
AS Roma expressed interest in 20-year-old Moroccan-French Watford winger Othmane Maamma, and the Italian club made a verbal proposal for a €1 million paid loan with a €14 million purchase option. The Championship club does not intend to let him go, as they consider the player a key part of their team. Watford wants to keep him, and a transfer will not be possible this winter despite numerous approaches and work by his representative. Monaco also showed interest, while LOSC and Nantes were also strongly interested in the player. Maamma joined Watford from Montpellier in July 2025 for a fee reported to be €1.3 million and has a contract until June 2029. He has 3 goals and 1 assist in 16 Championship appearances this season and has been capped 28 times by Morocco's U20 team, scoring 5 goals. In February 2026, Watford reportedly rejected an offer of €5 million from Nantes and an €8 million offer from Lille. The club's asking price was set at €10 million. His valuation on Transfermarkt is currently €1.30m.
