Union SG is set to sign 22-year-old Czech central defender Ondrej Kricfalusi from Banik Ostrava, gaining an advantage over Italian top-flight club Monza. The Belgian side will pay a €5 million fee, which is the amount specified in the player's release clause. Union SG was actively pursuing the transfer. While an agreement between the club and Kricfalusi has not been finalized, it is reportedly considered a formality. The player, who has been highly sought after in recent years, is expected to help cover the departure of Christian Burgess and the potential exit of Kevin Mac Allister. Kricfalusi joined Banik Ostrava in September 2025 and has 17 caps and 2 goals for the Czechia U21 team. In the 2025/2026 Chance Liga season, he made 24 appearances, scoring 5 goals. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €3.50m. Slavia Praha had also been linked with the defender.
