Digi Sport reports that FC Rapid and UTA Arad have reached an agreement for the loan of Omar El Sawy until the end of the season, and that Rapid made the official announcement. Daniel Pancu announced the departure, stating that Omar El Sawy moved to UTA Arad to have more chances to play. El Sawy had few opportunities at Rapid because Daniel Pancu more frequently used other players in his position. The player did not manage to establish himself at Rapid and this is his third loan, following previous spells at Sepsi and 'U' Cluj.

According to journalist Emanuel Roșu, Omar El Sawy will leave Rapid for UTA Arad on loan. Alexandru Meszar, the majority shareholder at Arad, confirmed that Omar El Sawy was on the club's list. Meszar stated that because the club has problems with injuries, they have identified several options but have not reached the stage of negotiations. He added that one of their options was or will be El Sawy, but they are not decided at this moment. Meszar also said that they are not rushing and do not want to make a mistake, even though they need players.
