SC Heerenveen was interested in signing 26-year-old Ajax attacker Oliver Edvardsen this winter, but a deal was quickly considered unfeasible. On the Leeuwarder Courant's podcast Omroep Abe, technical manager Johan Hansma confirmed that Edvardsen was on a long list of names under review. Hansma explained that prospective players must be affordable and also willing to play for the club, indicating this situation did not apply to Edvardsen. Various media outlets have reported that the Norwegian winger has permission to leave Ajax. This season, Edvardsen has made 10 Eredivisie appearances and provided one assist. He joined Ajax in January 2025, and his contract is valid until 2028. Reports in December 2025 indicated that Ajax is seeking a transfer fee of approximately €3.0 million. Heerenveen ultimately signed a different player, Luca Oyen.
