Slovakian defender Nikolas Brandis, a Left-Back, has transferred from AS Trenčín to the Dutch club FC Groningen, signing a contract with the Eredivisie participant until July 2030. For the 21-year-old youth international, who is a product of Trenčín's academy, this is his first move abroad. Brandis stated for Groningen's website that the club had been interested in him for some time and that from the moment he found out, it was his dream to continue his career there. He added that the club is known for giving opportunities to young players and he believes he can develop optimally with the available conditions and coaching staff. For AS Trenčín, youth sports director Marek Dobiáš expressed on the club's official website that they are always pleased when there is foreign interest in players who grew up in their academy, and he praised Brandis for his footballing quality, work ethic, and character. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €375k.
