Ioan Becali revealed that he proposed Romanian international Nicușor Bancu to Ludogorets in Bulgaria for what he described as a civilized sum of around 1.5 million. Becali said he spoke with Cosmin Moți, the sporting director of the Bulgarian club, but talks did not advance. The reason cited was that Ludogorets already has its team captain, Anton Nedyalkov, who is the same age as Bancu, playing in the same position. Becali noted that he had not discussed the matter with Bancu, only with Mr. Rotaru. He estimated that the player could have earned approximately 50,000 euros monthly, adding that players at Ludogorets, a club that plays in European competitions annually, earn between 600,000 and 700,000 euros per year. Bancu, who has 51 caps and 2 goals for Romania, has been with his current club, Universitatea Craiova, since July 2014 and is under contract until June 2028.
