Neal Maupay Transfer from Olympique Marseille to Sassuolo

Neal Maupay, previously determined to stay at Marseille, is now open to a departure. During the summer, he rejected interest from Sassuolo. This was before the close of the main European transfer window.

Neal Maupay has been approached by Sassuolo after being excluded from Marseille's Champions League squad and recent Ligue 1 matches. Despite the approach, Maupay has not responded or followed up with Sassuolo. The club is still seeking options for his departure despite the French transfer window being closed.

Neal Maupay is considered a serious candidate for a departure from Olympique de Marseille at the end of this summer transfer window. According to Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Marseille is nearing an agreement with Sassuolo for the transfer. However, the transfer remains uncertain as Maupay has not yet given his approval to join Sassuolo. OM is reportedly expecting around 5 million euros for the transfer. Maupay is under contract until June 2028.

French forward Neal Maupay, 28, is not expected to have more playing time next season at Olympique de Marseille, as he is behind Amine Gouiri and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The club is not holding him back and is interested in saving on his annual net salary, estimated at 2 million euros. Neal Maupay has received offers from Sassuolo and Trabzonspor, according to Le 10 Sport, prompting him to consider his future. His contract with Marseille runs until June 30, 2028, and Transfermarkt estimates his current market value at €8 million.
