Morten Thorsby, a 30-year-old Norwegian central midfielder, could leave the grigiorossi after the World Cup. He joined the club in February 2026 from Genoa for a fee of approximately €2.2 million. Christian Botturi, the sporting director, stated that they are registered players of Cremonese and will be evaluated as such when they return from their post-World Cup leave. He added that because of their experience and profile, they have reached a level above Serie B. Botturi also said it would be hypocritical to say that they will not evaluate any possible opportunities to move on, also for a matter of motivation. Thorsby, who has 32 caps for Norway, is under contract until June 2028 and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €2.80m. Sampdoria has been linked with the player.
