Young Boys signed 27-year-old German-Nigerian centre-back Moritz Jenz from Wolfsburg on deadline day. The signing was a response to an injury to Gregory Wüthrich. Jenz has signed a contract with the Bern-based club until the end of the season and will wear the number 4 shirt. His experience includes 71 Bundesliga games for Wolfsburg, Mainz, and Schalke, and 17 appearances in Ligue 1 for Lorient. He has also played in the Champions League with Celtic Glasgow and previously featured in the Swiss Super League for Lausanne-Sport during the 2020/21 season. At his new club, he will reunite with Cédric Zesiger, with whom he played at Wolfsburg, as well as Alvyn Sanches and Isaac Schmidt from his time in Lausanne. The defender, who has a current Transfermarkt market value of €5.00m, had also been linked with several Italian clubs. Reports from June 2026 stated the purchase option from his 2024/25 loan spell at Mainz 05 was between €6 million and €7 million.
