Moritz-Broni Kwarteng is transferring within the 2. Bundesliga, permanently leaving VfL Bochum to join 1. FC Magdeburg. Sporting director Peer Jaekel said that Kwarteng had earned his move to the Bundesliga at the time with strong performances. Jaekel stated that it makes them particularly happy that he is now returning to them. He added that they want to achieve success together and are convinced that they will achieve their goals together.

Moritz-Broni Kwarteng, 28, is moving from VfL Bochum to 1. FC Magdeburg, returning to the club he left in 2023 to move to the Ruhr area. The transfer fee is €300,000, with possible bonuses of around €150,000. The attacking player is signing a contract in Saxony-Anhalt until 2028 that includes an option for an additional year. A difference in views regarding Kwarteng’s position is apparently the main reason for the transfer. He wanted to play as a number 10, but VfL coach Uwe Rösler, 57, sees him more on the wing. In the center position, new signing Berkan Taz, 27, is apparently firmly planned.
