Mladen Cvjetinović Transfer from Holstein Kiel to Energie Cottbus

Energie Cottbus finalized the loan signing of defender Mladen Cvjetinović from Holstein Kiel shortly before the transfer window closed. The 22-year-old former Bosnian U21 international will be with the club until the summer. It is reported that his parent club, Holstein Kiel, had a surplus of central defenders and was therefore willing to loan a player. Cvjetinović has a contract in Kiel until 2029 and had missed almost the entire first half of the season due to a syndesmosis ligament tear. Energie coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz is said to have noticed the situation, which led to the decision to sign the player. The Lausitzer Rundschau was the first to report on the transfer. The defender was born in Berlin, holds both German and Bosnian-Herzegovinian nationality, and was developed in Hertha BSC's youth system. He has previously played 58 third-division games for Ingolstadt and Viktoria Berlin. Cvjetinović joined Holstein Kiel in July 2025 and has made one appearance in the 2. Bundesliga this season. Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €600k.
