Tuttomercato reports that Avellino is pursuing Catanzaro's 32-year-old Italian goalkeeper, Mirko Pigliacelli. Avellino is looking to build upon its playoff qualification from the previous season and has made Pigliacelli one of its most ambitious transfer targets. The club is reportedly ready to support its project with significant market investments. Pigliacelli is considered among the best goalkeepers in Serie B, but the negotiation is expected to be complex because the Calabrian club seems unwilling to sell one of their dressing room leaders. The goalkeeper joined Catanzaro in July 2024, and his contract runs until June 2027. His current market value is €400k, according to Transfermarkt. He has also been capped twice for the Italy U21 team.
