Mikayil Faye Transfer from Rennes to Cremonese

Mikayil Faye, previously a Barcelona player, has been loaned to Cremonese for the rest of the season. The loan includes an option for Cremonese to purchase Faye for 10 million euros. Barcelona has a financial interest in Faye's performance, as they retained a 30% future sale clause and an option to buy him back for double the amount they sold him for. Faye's lack of playing time at Rennes has affected Barcelona's plans for a significant profit from his next transfer.

Mikayil Faye, a 21-year-old defender, is reportedly on the verge of joining Cremonese on a loan with an option to buy. Negotiations have reached an advanced stage, with only minor details remaining to be finalized. Sky Italia reported that the player has already agreed to the move. Faye, who joined Rennes last summer as a highly regarded Senegalese prospect, was initially anticipated to play a significant role in Ligue 1 this season under coach Habib Beye. However, after missing the first match due to a delay, he now appears set to continue his career in Italy with Cremonese, who have recently acquired Faris Moumbagna and Jamie Vardy. His contract with Rennes is due to expire in June 2028, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €6 million.
