Miguel, a 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder, has agreed to join Universitario, the current three-time Peruvian national champions, after playing for Albirex Niigata in Japan. The player has already arrived in Lima and is expected to be announced early this week, in advance of his participation in the 2026 Conmebol Libertadores. Although he had a contract with the Japanese club, Miguel obtained his release to return to South American football, with his motivation being the opportunity to play in the continental competition and be closer to Brazil. He joined Albirex Niigata in January 2025 and has one cap and one goal for the Brazil U17 team. His current Transfermarkt market value is €300k.
