According to Laola1.at, 36-year-old Austrian central defender Michael Sollbauer has left SV Ried to join league competitor GAK with immediate effect. Sollbauer was a key player for the Innviertler last season but had not appeared in the squad at all this season, partly due to a ligament injury. Ried's signing of Luka Capan facilitated his departure. SVR sporting director Lukas Brandl stated that in the overall sporting picture, the transfer to GAK was the best solution for all sides. Brandl added that Sollbauer was significantly involved in the club's success over the last two years. At GAK, it is expected that he will bring stability to the defense with his experience, and he has signed a one-year contract that includes an option.
