Newly-promoted Notts County are interested in signing Burnley's Michael Mellon as they prepare for their return to League One. It is reported that manager Martin Paterson is looking to strengthen his attack, and the club is pursuing the 22-year-old following his productive loan spell in League Two with Oldham Athletic, where he scored 10 goals in 18 appearances before a serious hamstring injury ended his season in December. Burnley, where Mellon is an academy graduate, are asking for a fee of approximately £250,000 for the former Scotland youth international.
