According to Globo.com, Inter Miami announced on Wednesday that it had signed defender Micael from Palmeiras. Micael is on loan until the end of the 2026 Major League Soccer season, and the deal includes an option to buy at the end of the loan. The player had been released from reporting back to Palmeiras due to the negotiation.

Palmeiras is finalizing the transfer of 25-year-old Brazilian defender Micael to Inter Miami, with negotiations for a one-season loan to the United States club reported to be at an advanced stage. The agreement includes a purchase option intended to let Palmeiras recover the R$ 35 million they invested when signing the defender from Houston Dynamo. The transfer comes after Micael, who was brought in at the request of manager Abel Ferreira as a left-footed option, did not establish himself in the team and lost his position from May onwards. It is expected that Micael will not join the rest of the Palmeiras squad for preseason if the talks conclude successfully. Micael joined Palmeiras in February 2025 and has a contract until the end of 2029, and his current market value is listed by Transfermarkt as €4.00m.
