Nexhipi explained that a main reason the transfer was delayed was CFR's initial asking price of €1.5 to €2 million, but the club's subsequent financial problems and insolvency made the completion of a last-minute deal with FCSB easier. The transfer was completed for a reported fee of €600,000 on September 4, 2026, and the player signed a contract lasting until June 2028.
