Memphis Depay Transfer from Corinthians to Fenerbahçe

According to Fanatik, Memphis Depay was proposed to Fenerbahce by agents, and the club's management has added the Dutch player to their list. Official attempts are pending the striker's termination of his contract with Corinthians. The Brazilian club is reportedly seeking to terminate Depay's contract due to economic difficulties. The 31-year-old's situation will become clear after the season in Brazil ends next month.

According to a report from Esporte Record in Brazil, Fenerbahçe is pursuing 31-year-old Dutch Corinthians forward Memphis Depay as the club seeks to reinforce its striker position. Although Depay's contract runs until 31 December 2026, the report indicates he is highly likely to leave after the Brazilian season concludes on 7 December, with Esporte Record estimating his transfer fee at approximately 10 million Euro. However, Depay may be able to terminate his contract and leave for free due to an economic crisis at Corinthians, which has reportedly failed to pay him a 1.7 million Euro performance bonus and a 1 million Euro signing bonus installment. The player's high cost has caused internal disagreement at the club, with football director Fabinho Soldado wanting to offer a new contract to prevent his departure. In contrast, an unnamed source, described as the right-hand man to president Omar Stabile, told Esporte Record that a contract extension has not even been considered. This source explained that Depay's 11 million Euro annual salary is absurdly unfavorable for Corinthians and that the club lacks the economic power to meet his demands. It is now expected that both Depay and Soldado will leave the club at the end of the season. The player, whose market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €9.00m, has also been linked with Santos Laguna.
