Mees Rijks Transfer from Vålerenga to Bristol Rovers
Dutch centre-forward Mees Rijks, 22, has joined the English club Bristol Rovers. Bristol Rovers, who are currently 22nd in League Two, signed the forward from the Norwegian club Valerenga, where his contract was due to expire in December 2026. The transfer terminates Rijks' loan period at De Graafschap, where he had been sent by Valerenga for the season and was demoted to the reserves in November after experiencing difficulties with his role. Speaking via his new team's club channels, Rijks stated he was happy and said the decision was easy because he loves English football. He described Bristol Rovers as a great club with significant history and fantastic passion. Rijks is a former Netherlands U19 international, for whom he has 7 caps and 1 goal. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €350k.
