FC Erzgebirge Aue announced the contract extension of their striker Maximilian Schmid. The 22-year-old player had joined Aue from 1. FC Köln during the winter break and has played ten official matches for the third division team since then. The club did not disclose the length of the new contract. Schmid is currently sidelined due to a syndesmosis injury, which will keep him out until the end of the season.
