In a club podcast, Slovan Bratislava chief Ivan Kmotrík ml. revealed that he was very surprised to hear that Maxim Mateáš is considering a transfer to Spartak Trnava. Kmotrík explained that the player feels disappointed about his lack of opportunities in the first team. Mateáš's contract with Slovan expires at the end of the year, and the club wants to extend it. The player has reportedly shown little interest so far. Kmotrík stated that after getting an early chance, the midfielder was no longer in the coach's plans, but the club will attempt to negotiate with him again to see if a change of manager will convince him to stay.
