Winger Max Smith, the son of former Watford favourite Tommy Smith, has joined National League North side Oxford City on a month-long loan. The move to the sixth-tier club comes as some of Watford's young players have had to look for regular game time elsewhere due to the club discontinuing its Under-21 team and downgrading its academy. Smith, who was a regular for the Under-21s last season but has not yet made a senior debut, will join a club where Paul Robinson is a first-team coach.
