Mauro Furtado, a Portuguese central defender from Benfica born in 2008, is seeking to leave his club and could move to Italy. Sassuolo is monitoring Furtado as a potential replacement for the departing Tarik Muharemovic. The Italian club is currently evaluating all its options before deciding on a move for the player. Furtado joined Benfica in July 2025, and his contract with the club runs until June 30, 2027. He has also been capped six times for the Portugal U18 national team.
