Brentford and Brighton from the English Premier League are interested in buying 20-year-old Ukrainian Dynamo center-forward Matvii Ponomarenko, for whom the club's executives have set a starting negotiation price of 20-25 million euros. Additionally, two top German Bundesliga clubs, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund, are also monitoring the player. Scouts from the German clubs are compiling weekly reports on Ponomarenko's performances, and these reports are now increasingly recommending an urgent acquisition rather than just routine monitoring. In the current 2025/2026 Premier Liga season, Ponomarenko has scored 9 goals in 10 appearances. He joined Dynamo Kyiv in July 2024, and his contract with the club is valid until the end of 2028.
