Matúš Vojtko Transfer from Slovan Bratislava to Lechia Gdańsk

Matúš Vojtko has been signed by Lechia Gdańsk and awaited registration approval from the Polish Football Association (PZPN). The approval has now been granted, allowing him to play in the upcoming Ekstraklasa season.

Matúš Vojtko, a 24-year-old Slovak left-back, has officially signed a contract with Lechia Gdańsk, valid until June 30, 2028. He moved to the Ekstraklasa from Slovan Bratislava, where he had the opportunity to compete in the league phase of the Champions League. The transfer was confirmed after he underwent medical tests and signed the contract.

Matúš Vojtko is training with Lechia Gdańsk and is considered a near-finalized reinforcement. However, the club cannot confirm his transfer due to a lack of permission from the Polish Football Association to register new players.

The transfer of Matúš Vojtko from Slovan Bratislava to Lechia Gdańsk appears to be at an advanced stage. According to Tomasz Galiński, Vojtko has already arrived in Poland and participated in Tuesday's training session with the entire team. Vojtko is a left defender and a fifteen-time representative of Slovakia. Lechia has not yet published any official communication regarding the 24-year-old, but it is expected soon.

Matúš Vojtko is set to join Lechia Gdańsk on a free transfer. This move is facilitated by his contract with Slovan Bratislava expiring at the end of June. The transfer is reported by Jozef Kopčo. Vojtko has been with Slovan Bratislava since August 2021, with a loan spell at HNK Gorica in between. He played 30 matches in the previous season, scoring two goals and providing three assists. He also participated in one UEFA Champions League match in the last edition, facing Dinamo Zagreb.
