Homegrown English full-back Matty Jacob has departed Hull City to sign for League Two side Newport County on a loan deal lasting until January. Because the 25-year-old was Hull's fourth-choice left-back and was not expected to be included in Sergej Jakirovic's 25-man Premier League squad, the club sought a move for him as the transfer deadline neared. The switch to the South Wales club is Jacob's fourth loan, with his most recent one being at Reading last season.
