FC Hradec Králové considered signing 33-year-old Italian defender Mattia De Sciglio, who has previously played for clubs such as AC Milan and Juventus, as a short-term solution for the spring part of the 2025/26 season. The player underwent medical tests with the club, but after an evaluation of all results and circumstances, Hradec Králové decided not to sign him. Sporting director Petr Pojezný stated that the primary reason for the decision was that De Sciglio would not have been an immediate reinforcement, which was the main objective of the potential signing. Pojezný acknowledged that a player of his caliber would have been a significant benefit to the club and the entire Chance Liga, but explained that the club has opted to continue with its long-term strategy of building a squad for the next season. He added that this approach is in line with the philosophy introduced by the club's new shareholders and that the current squad has their full confidence. The club also thanked the player and his management team for their excellent communication and cooperation.
