Mathijs Tielemans, a 24-year-old Dutch midfielder, is reportedly nearing a departure from the Dutch club Excelsior to join AaB. The two clubs are also said to be close to an agreement on the transfer terms. Both the player and Excelsior have been interested in finding a solution because Tielemans has had difficulty securing a prominent role and has gradually slipped down the hierarchy at the club. If the move is completed, Denmark will be Tielemans' first foreign destination. Tielemans joined Excelsior in July 2025 and has a contract with the club until 2028. Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €350k.
