Mateusz Wdowiak leaving Zagłębie Lubin?
GKS Katowice announced that they have signed Mateusz Wdowiak, who was previously with Zagłębie Lubin.
According to Kamil Bętkowski, who confirmed information from Jerzy Chwałek of 'Super Express', GKS Katowice is finalizing the transfer of attacking midfielder Mateusz Wdowiak from Zaglebie Lubin. Wdowiak wanted to find a new environment for himself. The transfer is set to occur in January, even though Wdowiak's contract with his current employer extends until the middle of this year. He is expected to sign a contract until the end of the 2027/2028 season, provided there are no sudden changes.
Polish attacking midfielder Mateusz Wdowiak, who is 29, may leave Zagłębie Lubin in the winter while remaining in the Ekstraklasa, as GKS Katowice is showing interest in him. He joined Zagłębie Lubin from Raków Częstochowa in August 2023 for a fee reported to be €150,000. His current contract is valid until June 2026. In the Ekstraklasa this season, he has made 11 appearances and has not scored a goal or provided an assist. Wdowiak has two caps for the Poland U21 team and his current market value is listed by Transfermarkt as €300k. Arka Gdynia has also been linked with Wdowiak.
