Mateusz Michalski leaving Polonia Warszawa?

Mateusz Michalski has returned to Widzew Łódź to join their reserve team. He originally joined Widzew in 2016 and had a second stint from 2020 to 2022. Recently, he played for Polonia Warszawa, scoring six goals in the 2023/2024 season over 32 appearances. Michalski expressed his strong connection to Widzew and quickly accepted the offer to rejoin the club, aiming to contribute to the academy and share his experience with younger players. He signed a contract valid until June 30, 2026.

Mateusz Michalski, a 34-year-old midfielder, is training with the second team of Widzew Łódź and is expected to strengthen their third-league reserves. He previously played over 151 matches for Widzew Łódź's first team, scoring 39 goals and providing 12 assists. His contract with Polonia Warszawa was not extended, allowing him to join Widzew Łódź on a free transfer. A photo posted by the Widzew Łódź academy shows him in training with the reserves, indicating that a contract signing is imminent.

Mateusz Michalski's contract with Polonia Warszawa will not be extended beyond June 30, 2025. He will be available on a free transfer.
