Mateusz Kowalczyk has already agreed with GKS Katowice on the terms of a potential departure. Every potentially interested club knows the amount they would have to pay to sign the 22-year-old Polish defensive midfielder from Katowice. The scenario of a transfer abroad for Mateusz Kowalczyk is considered more likely than a move to another Ekstraklasa team. Mateusz Kowalczyk joined GKS Katowice in the summer of 2024 on loan. After the season, Katowice decided to buy him from Brøndby IF for one million euros, setting a new transfer record. His contract with the club runs until June 30, 2028. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €1.50 million. Kowalczyk has also made 11 appearances for the Poland U21 national team.
