Mateo Joseph Transfer from Leeds United to Real Betis

Mundo Deportivo has reported that Real Betis is in pursuit of Mateo Joseph as they engage in negotiations with Leeds. The club is making progress in discussions with Joseph's agents, with the aim of reaching an agreement with Leeds. Despite Joseph's contract running until 2028, it appears likely that he will not remain at Leeds for the next season. Leeds, having secured their return to the Premier League after winning the Championship, are requesting a transfer fee between 13 and 15 million euros. However, Real Betis is hoping to pay a lower amount, intending to acquire only a portion of the rights while leaving the remainder with Leeds, in a manner similar to previous deals involving Johnny and Ez Abde.

Mateo Joseph, a striker for the national team, is an option Betis is considering to bolster their attack. Negotiations with Leeds will be challenging as they have been promoted to the Premier League and value his talent. Joseph likes the offer from Betis.

Real Betis have shown persistent interest in Mateo Joseph. After having a £10 million bid rejected in January, Betis is expected to return with an improved offer, potentially around £12.75 million. Leeds United may consider such offers to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) and to fund new signings ahead of their Premier League campaign.

Team Talk reports on Leeds United's decision to reject an offer from Real Betis for Mateo Joseph, while also considering future transfer options. Leeds United turned down an offer from Real Betis in January for Mateo Joseph. However, Betis might come back with another offer. Leeds has set a €15 million price tag on him, but may also consider a loan move to rebuild his confidence.

Joseph, who drew attention from Real Betis in January, is again on the radar of the La Liga club for a potential summer transfer, as reported by El Pelotazo and relayed by LeedsUnited.News. Previously, an £8m transfer for Joseph was nearly finalized during the winter window, but Leeds United is now reportedly demanding a higher fee ranging from £11m to £12.75m. This indicates Leeds' recognition of the 21-year-old’s potential value in the Premier League. Despite this, Joseph's departure from Leeds in the summer remains a possibility. His performance in the Championship has been underwhelming, with only three goals and three assists across 35 league appearances this season. Moreover, with Joel Piroe occupying the starting striker position, Leeds might consider selling Joseph to generate funds for new acquisitions. While it is uncertain if Leeds will ultimately decide to sell Joseph this summer, Real Betis' ongoing interest suggests that a move away from Elland Road could very well occur.
