Matej Šakota, who has both Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia nationalities, has left Zrinjski, his parent club to which he had returned, and signed a contract with Umm Salal in Qatar. The transfer of the 22-year-old forward was first announced by Germanijak journalists Ivan Mušlek and Duje Filipović-Grčić. The transfer is valued at approximately 300,000 euros, although Zrinjski will not receive the entire amount. Dejan Šomoci, the sporting director for Slaven Belupo, confirmed to Germanijak that his club is entitled to 40 percent of the total transfer fee, meaning Slaven Belupo will earn around 120,000 euros from Šakota's move.
