Sparta's technical director, Gerard Nijkamp, has said that the club will cooperate with a departure for Marvin Young this summer. Young was previously linked with Ajax, and it is said that both top clubs are interested in him. Nijkamp said that they know Marvin wants to take the next step and that, as a club, they want to cooperate with that, provided the right amounts are offered. The technical director also stated that while he would be happy to ask for ten million for Young, he is certain that the player would still be at Sparta next season in that case.

Ajax has inquired about Marvin Young from Sparta. The player told Voetbal International last week that he does not intend to remain at Sparta for another year and desires to advance his career this summer. He also stated that he does not have a preference for a specific club in the Netherlands to move to.

According to Dennis Kranenburg at FC Rijnmond, Ajax has a strong interest in 20-year-old Dutch Sparta Rotterdam defender Marvin Young. Young is regarded as a great talent and was previously linked with PSV. PSV had pursued the central defender for some time, but Sparta Rotterdam reportedly wants a significant fee for the player. A transfer did not result from an initial bid of three million euros from PSV in the summer of 2025. Young joined Sparta Rotterdam in November 2024 and his contract is until June 30, 2029. The Netherlands U21 international has two caps and has made 22 appearances in the Eredivisie this season. His current valuation on Transfermarkt is €4.00m.
