SV Sandhausen sporting director Anthony Loviso described Marvin Schulz as an exciting young player who fits well with their style of play. SV Sandhausen coach Olaf Janßen said that Marvin came to their attention in the first half of the season. Janßen stated that Schulz impresses with very strong positioning, works with high intensity against the ball and is flexible in attack. He also said that in the short term, Schulz gives them additional options offensively and that they are very happy that he is now with them.
