FC Basel announced via a press release that 19-year-old Swiss centre-back Marvin Akahomen will be loaned to SC Kriens for the upcoming season, and the deal does not include an option for a permanent transfer. This will be Akahomen's second consecutive season-long loan to a Challenge League team, after a period with Wil last season. The defender joined Basel from the GC juniors at age 13 and progressed through all the youth levels. He has made seven appearances in the Swiss Super League since his debut in the spring of 2023. Akahomen is a Switzerland U19 international with 15 caps, and his contract with Basel expires in June 2029. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €700k.
