According to Italian insider Nicolo Shira, Genoa is among four clubs expressing interest in acquiring Croatian defender Martin Erlić. In addition to Genoa, Bologna, Cremonese, and Cagliari have also shown interest in the player. Earlier in the summer, Dinamo Zagreb seemed to be the frontrunner in securing Erlić's signature, as they had made tangible progress in negotiations, although there have been no further updates since then. Erlić, previously a regular under Croatian national team coach Zlatko Dalić and a bronze medalist at the Qatar World Cup, is in search of a club where he can play regularly to enhance his prospects of being included in the squad for the next World Cup. His transfer to Bologna last summer led to a decrease in playing time, which resulted in his omission from the national team. Transfermarkt currently values his market worth at 4.00 million euros.
