Voetbalprimeur.nl reports that eighteen-year-old Jamaican-Dutch right back Marlon van de Wetering has transferred from FC Eindhoven to Excelsior, signing a three-year contract on Friday. Van de Wetering, who was one of the surprises at his former club last season, said his choice for the Kralingen-based team was deliberate. He explained that after doing his research, the fact that young players are quickly given a chance at Excelsior played a significant role in his decision, and that he aims to become an important player there. Technical director Mark Ruijl confirmed they have followed his development closely, seeing him as a player with a lot of potential who will be given the time and space to continue his growth. In the 2025/2026 Keuken Kampioen Divisie season, van de Wetering made 18 appearances for FC Eindhoven, scoring one goal and providing one assist. He has also been capped once for Jamaica and has a current market value of €175k, according to Transfermarkt.
