Newcastle United is interested in 22-year-old Shakhtar midfielder Marlon Gomes before the summer transfer window and is reportedly prepared to sign him. The English club is not the only one interested, as German club RB Leipzig, along with English clubs Aston Villa and Chelsea, have also been linked with the Brazilian player and are also prepared to make a signing. Gomes joined Shakhtar in January 2024, and his contract is scheduled to expire at the end of 2028. In the 2025/2026 Premier Liga season, he made 19 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist. The midfielder has five caps and one goal for the Brazil U23 team.
