Voetbal International reports that Mark Diemers has returned to De Graafschap. He was acquired on a free transfer earlier this week. The 32-year-old midfielder previously played two and a half seasons for the club between 2016 and 2018.

Mark Diemers, a 32-year-old Dutch central midfielder, is nearing a return to De Graafschap. The club appears to have secured the player over his former teams FC Emmen and Fortuna Sittard, who were also reportedly interested. Sources within the Doetinchem club confirm the move, and an agreement has been reached following very difficult negotiations. Diemers stated that while there is a chance of his return, it is not yet completely finalized. Despite his comment, Diemers is reported to be preparing for a medical examination on Wednesday. If he passes, he is expected to train with the team on Thursday and could potentially be available for the home match against Den Bosch on Sunday. The midfielder had recently been maintaining his fitness by training with FC Emmen. Diemers has been without a club since July 2026 and has a current market value of €600k, according to Transfermarkt.
