Italian centre-back Marco Ruggero, 26, could leave Spezia after six months and nine appearances because of the club's relegation to Serie C and his salary not fitting the new wage parameters. Vicenza, SudTirol, and Empoli are among the Serie B clubs that have shown interest in the defender. More recently, Catanzaro has made a significant approach for Ruggero and may attempt to sign him ahead of the other interested clubs. According to Il Secolo XIX, the Calabrian club, which has previously signed Antonio Candela from Spezia, could offer approximately half a million euros for the player. This is slightly below Spezia's valuation of 700,000 euros. Ruggero's contract with Spezia is valid until June 2028. He joined the club in January 2026 for a €350,000 fee, and his current market value is €900k, according to Transfermarkt.
